Use exit (opening in the guard rail)  just North of the 10 mile marker.  After pulling off highway, drive South in the parking
lane about 150' to the 10 Mile Marker. Bonfire is at the beach, in the sand immediately adjacent the  # 10 Mile Marker.
Friday Evenings(when someone cares)  -  Sunset till whenever you choose to leave...
(weather permitting)
This was is THE SOCIAL EVENT each week (prior to Feb 1, 2008).
Tourists and Visitors are always welcome whenever there is a bonfire.
About No Host Weeks:

There are some weeks where there is no designated host. When this
happens, bring something along to burn if you can, (and kindling too).
Don't forget we'll need dogs, buns, etc as well if you can bring them.

No Host also means it's BYOWood Friday, if you have a pickup truck,
please bring along some wood to burn.  If arriving by car, please bring
along a trash can (or two) filled with wood, or even something for
kindling, which will be needed early, even before (or as close to sunset
as possible). Also, if you have something around that needs to be
sacrificed to the fire gods, bring it along as well. Please remove any
nails or other hardware that may be in scrap wood or discarded
shipping palates. (The Garden Island newspaper usually has free
wooden palates available for the taking.)

Maybe if you've never hosted a bonfire before, you might take this
opportunity to try your skill at fire making.  Anyone feeling creative, or
have something interesting to contribute, please try to arrive a little
early.....  We'll all just see what develops..... Be creative, adventurous
and surprise everyone!

If you've got a couple Tiki Torches laying around, bring a few along to
stake up in the sand. Got any other extra stuff that's appropriate, bring it
along as well to share.

If you are visiting the island just show up and see what's happening.
Can't bring anything, That's OK too, just show up!
January 12, 2007 Bonfire Turns into Tsunami Watch Party
following an 8.4 Earthquake off the Kuril Islands at 6:23 PM HST.
If produced, the wave was predicted to hit the North Shore of Kauai
around 12:23 AM local time, but was canceled just after 9:30 PM. No
wave was generated after all, but the existing 15 - 20 foot surf
continued all night and into the following day. Such is gay life on
Kauai...
